Lieurance, M.D., is a 1987 graduate of the University of Arizona, receiving a B.S. degree in biochemistry. While at the U of A he played football and rugby. Dr. Lieurance received his M.D. degree from the University of Arizona in 1991. He completed a five year residency in orthopaedic surgery at Scott & White Hospital / Texas A & M University in Temple, Texas. Following residency, Dr. Lieurance completed a one year fellowship in Sports Medicine and Arthroscopic Surgery at The Sports Clinic in Laguna Hills, Calif. Dr. Lieurance joined Midwest Orthopaedic Surgery, Inc. in 1997 and Freeman Midwest Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine in 2008. In addition to his fellowship training, he has 20 years experience treating athletic injuries from the side lines of local high schools. At present Dr. Lieurance is team physician for Missouri Southern State University and Joplin High School. Dr. Lieurance has special training and interest in athletic injuries, disorders of the shoulder and knee using arthroscopic reconstruction surgical technique. He attends and instructs at national and international meeting annually learning and teaching advanced techniques of arthroscopic shoulder reconstruction. He became certified in 1999 by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, and re-certified in 2010. His sub-specialty is Sports Medicine and he is Fellowship trained Arthroscopy. Dr. Lieurance is a member of the Arthroscopy Association of North America and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
