Derek W. Miller, D.O., is a 2001 graduate of the University of Health Sciences,
College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kansas City, MO, with a subsequent residency
at Pinnacle Health Hospitals in Harrisburg, PA. Dr. Miller participated in specialty
programs during his residency at Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, PA to
include orthopaedic trauma, foot, ankle and pediatric surgery programs.
Dr. Miller began private practice with Midwest Orthopaedic Surgery, Inc. in 2007
immediately following completion of his fellowship training program in Adult Hip
& Knee Reconstructive Surgery and Joint Replacement at Washington University
School of Medicine Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Dr. Miller treats a wide
variety of orthopaedic problems. He has sub-specialty training and special interests in
complex primary and revision hip and knee replacement surgery including partial knee
replacement surgery. Dr. Miller joined Freeman Health System in 2008. At present Dr.
Miller is President of the Staff at Freeman Health System.
Dr. Miller and his wife, Alyson, are natives of Joplin, MO and graduates of Joplin
High School. Dr. Miller was happy to return to Joplin in order to provide orthopaedic
care to his friends, family and all citizens of his home town and the surrounding area.
