We thank those in our community that earned their angel wings for shopping for our Angel Tree children. This year the gifts where unbelievably extraordinary. There will be about 105 very excited children in Quartzsite that will receive packages delivered to them by Quartzsite Fire Department, Quartzsite Police and Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus. There will be lots of extras toys on the fi re truck for any- one that was missed, too. Thank you to the community toy drives from VFW Freedom Riders, Covenant Lutheran Church, Holiday Palms, and those that put toys in our Toy Box at Dollar General. Blessings to one and all. Please come in and wish our longtime volunteer Lillian MacFee, a happy 95th birthday. She will share her chocolate kisses with her community friends and family. Her special celebration is Thursday, December 21st, the day before her birthday. Her nickname here, is "Speedy", as some of us cannot keep up with her. She is amazing, and when she cleans an item, you can eat off it. She is a one of a kind special lady to so many of us. A big thank you to all the Bell Ringers you have seen at these local businesses, Dollar General, General Store, Road- runner, Post Offi ce, HC Bank, Family Dollar and Herbs on the counter. We received a $300 generous check do- nation this week. WOW!! These Red Kettle Campaign funds stay locally and help send kids to camp and other local assistance to those in need. We are trying our best to keep on top of the massive amount of donations we receive daily. Please understand that at times we may have to put out a sign that we have no room for anything more--just for a day or so. Right now, the amount of clothing is at capacity. It takes time to sort, price and hang so much clothing. We appreciate your understanding. Our marvelous volun- teers are doing their best and working extra-long hours, too. We have an awe- some team. Takes a village to run the store and service center. We do have a load and unload area by our entry walk ramp for your drop off donations. Please pull close to that corner edge to place items in our dona- tion carts. Those that are trying to fi nd parking places can then get around you and we won't have the traffi c jams. Well, that is the plan. We will soon have a sidewalk put in from our entry ramp to the street sidewalk. Be pre- pared for under construction cones at that time again. The fl ood prevention improvements on our north parking lot side will soon be completed. A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS and Happy New Year! Please enjoy a homemade lasagna Christmas dinner at Isaiah 58 with Salvation Army purchased ingredi- ents. We also purchased protein type foods for our Local Food Bank-Carols Cupboard deliveries.
