Continually try to learn how to identify students' learning styles, and how to adapt your teaching style correspondingly. For example, it is hard to teach an intellectual learner in a hands-on atmosphere, and vice versa. Adapting teaching styles to the students' learning styles will keep them interested and motivated. Always remember, as an instructor, you are an expert at your cra. What is common knowledge to you may not be for your student. Why are professional development and continuing education important to you? It is important on so many levels! Being an instructor means that I have the opportunity to be a mentor in another person's life. is also includes being a father in my personal life. Continuing education is a key instrument in helping me become a better human being on all levels. What's one thing you think career education leaders can do to improve institutional performance? I believe that educational leaders can improve institutional performance by updating (or continuing to update) their curriculum, and by adapting to technology advancements. ey also need to educate, or continue to educate, their personnel at all levels on a regular basis via continuing education. My institution does this and it has truly helped me become a more qualified and confident educator. CHEP Certification The CHEP certification recognizes employees of career schools, colleges, and universities who strive for excellence in their respective positions, with the ultimate goal of enabling institutions to develop high- performing, compliant, and ethical employees to better serve students. CHEPs have successfully completed forty- eight hours of approved training in their area of concentration and are required to complete eight hours of approved training annually to maintain their certification.
