Salons are usually pleasant environments with good lighting, but cosmetologists are oen on their feet all day, so good stamina and physical strength are a must. Illustrators Entry-level education: Many earn a bachelor's or master's degree to improve skills and job prospects Median pay (2016): $48,780 annually Job outlook, 2014-2024: Growing slower than average (2 percent projected growth) On-the-job training: None Working environment: About half of illustrators, under the designation of cra and fine artists, were self-employed in 2014. e other half work for a variety of corporations including schools, publishers, advertising and public relations firms, or commercial art studios.
