By STEVE HERRING MOUNT OLIVE — The Mount Olive Christmas Parade is returning to down- town after an absences of several years. Those are just a few of the activities that will take place from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1, during the annual Christmas Open House in downtown Mount Olive. The evening is being hosted by the Mount Olive Area Chamber of Commerce and the town of Mount Olive. All Friday activities are being sponsored by Mount Olive Family Medi- cine Center. At 6:30 p.m., Julie Beck, chamber president, and Mayor Ray McDonald Sr. will give a wel- come and issue Christmas greetings in front of Mount Olive Town Hall. McDonald will then hit the switch to light up the town tower. Immediately following the tower lighting, entertainment will be provided by members of Mrs. Robin's Dance Academy near the South- ern Bank drive-through close to Center Street. Following that performance, the remainder of activities shift to Center Street. While there, children can write a letter to Santa Claus and visit with him and share their wish list. Children also can apply to be the junior grand marshal for the Saturday, Dec. 2, Christ- mas Parade. 919-778-5257 | 4744 Hwy. 70 E.
