Responsibilities include addressing the improvement of food security in Rutherford County and increasing access to healthy foods, specifi cally fresh fruits and vegetables, and leading the Healthy Corner Stores initiative. The candidate will also move forward the work of the Rutherford Food Network, which can potentially become a Food Policy Council, lead meetings, give presentations, and maintain regular email communications and social media promotions. MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent is re- quired. The candidate must be familiar with rural food systems, food insecurity, food ac- cess/food justice issues, public health, and community building. S/he will possess excel- lent networking, community relations, confl ict resolution, organizational, administrative, facilitation and writing skills as well as demonstrate leadership, self-motivation and ability to coordinate work with collaboratives, neighborhood groups, and government offi cials. The candidate must have strong computer skills and be profi cient in frequently used pro- grams such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc., social media and email systems. Must also provide own cell phone for work use. S/he must be able to work within a fl exible schedule and be able travel. Use of own vehicle is required and must have a valid driver's license. Knowledge of the Rutherford County community is preferred. Candidates residing in Rutherford County are preferred. POSITION DETAILS: This is a part-time position under a 1-year contract; 25 hours per week. Travel over 30 miles will be reimbursed at a rate of $0.535 per mile. This does not include commute to and from work, but would include travel to meetings, job trainings/ workshops. HOURLY PAY RATE: $16.00 per hour. CLOSING DATE: Open until fi lled.
