Please have your funeral home send us your loved ones' obituaries to events@rutherfordweekly.com ©Community First Media Community First Media One of the fal- lacies of youthful inexperience is that often it is im- mersed in self-centeredness. Impetuosity rules our unenlightened naivety and re- gretful and wasteful actions always result. Hopefully, as we gather these mistaken experiences of life in our basket of years a certain amount of maturity will devel- op. This acquired maturity is not as much about the aging process as it is about achieving objectivity. It is possible for an elderly person to have learned nothing along life's way and for a younger person to have developed knowledge beyond their years. This wisdom will lead the seeking person to contemplate the "reason why." Finding the "reason why" will enable us to build a strong foundation in our interac- tions with others and add meaning to our everyday life. Left without this knowledge our life is directionless and we are subject- ed to life's every whim. Those who make a difference in this world will have learned the truth that there is a higher reason in doing what we do. In other words, you must understand the why and the where before you can get to the preferred end. Why do we work each day? Why do we have relationships? What is the reason for our existence? The answer to those questions and more will lead us to inner fulfi llment. The Bible states that the high- est of all motives is love (1st Corinthians 13:13). This type of love is that which mo- tivated God to send His only Son into this world to die for the sins of mankind. Love will pilot us to a life of service, forgiveness, respect for others and wanting the greater good for everyone. Therefore, the ultimate reason to live is to love. Simply put, loving God and loving others is the answer to the "reason why." LANNY FUNCHESS -FUNERAL DIRECTOR- Points To Ponder THE REASON WHY?
