Delta Tau Delta page 2 W e have embarked on yet another success- ful semester at Gamma Tau. Our members are loving the renovations that took place over the summer. The Shelter looks better than ever thanks to new flooring in the dining hall, updated lighting, speakers to complement the back patio, and (what I am most thrilled about) a renovated Gamma Tau library. Focused on Academic Excellence Last spring, the executive board implemented a new structure and guidance for both actives and new members. Within this structure, we re- vamped our Gamma Tau bylaws and construct- ed an entirely new academic platform. Members now have more opportunity for financial scholar- ship and an academic contract to keep them ac- countable to both their studies and Gamma Tau. We've seen drastic improvements from the pre- vious semester with the highest GPA since our re-charter: 3.2. From here on out, we wish to im- The newly renovated library at the Shelter. Alumni Support Key to Chapter's Success This fall, we welcomed a new pledge class of 25 members who were initiated on November 17. We appreciate all alumni who took part in the ritual. We also celebrated the successful com- pletion of our $1.1 million capital campaign this semester. I'd like to acknowledge Brother Jim Benson '82. His role as chairman of the cam- paign was integral in reaching our goal. Also, a special thank-you goes out to Ed Ryan '80 and Jim as our top contributors. I would like to ex- press my gratitude to each donor; without you, this wouldn't have been possible. On behalf of our chapter, we are appreciative of all that our alumni do for us, whether that be donations, taking time out of your busy schedule to attend events at the Shelter, or simply placing confi- dence in us. Alumni Always Welcome The football season is well underway and, as you all know, you are always welcome at the Shelter. Bring your families, check out the Shelter's new look, and show support for our Jayhawks! As al- ways, I hope to meet with you all when you do come visit, and if you need anything from me or have any concerns, please feel free to reach out. Again, I personally want to thank you all for your support on behalf of all our undergraduates as we make Delt even more successful well into the future.
