BROTHERHOOD– DREAMS COME TRUE! "I ncredible," "A+," "WOW!," "Can I move back in?" were just a few of the reactions overheard at the huge Dedication ceremonies last month—and those were the understated ones! With perfect weather, a great Illini victory, and our spectacular new chapter house as backdrops, over 300 of our Brothers and visiting dignitaries enjoyed the largest and perhaps most enjoyable gathering in Chi Zeta's long history. Although the new house was the center of attention, our strong brotherhood was evident throughout the two-day event and was the true star. Festivities kicked off with the formal dedication and ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, September 8, on the huge new upper deck tied to the Rec Room and Dining Hall, overlooking the basketball court. A long list of distinguished guests from the City of Champaign and University of Illinois joined over 150 brothers in the celebration of this great addition to the local and University communities. New Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs at UIUC, Dr. Danita M. B. Young, admitted to having a "so spot" for Lambda Chi from her past experience at other Big 10 campuses. "is new house represents both a dedication to the long history of the Chi Chapter at the University of Illinois, and a tangible commitment to the Seven Core Values that the men of Lambda Chi Alpha uphold." she observed. "I firmly believe that University Greek life can assist in the personal growth and development of college students through the strength of the community that it builds. rough the Lambda Chi pledge to living your values and rewarding accountability to them, you contribute to creating a better Lambda Chi Alpha - University of Illinois - Champaign, Illinois • Fall 2017 Chi Zetagram Construction committee celebrates: Dick Prebil X973, John Crook X980, Dale Miller X985, Pete Kale X1020, Architect Steve Malin, Terry Sears X1015, and Chairman Steve Lipe X1261.
