eta Phi is doing well. We recently hosted our grand opening
celebration with more than 300 alumni and guests in attendance. It
was so good to see those who visited the new Shelter. Some alumni
indicated that they could not attend the celebration, but would like to visit
the Shelter this fall for a tour. I'd be happy to accommodate any alumni
who would like to see what the House Corporation has accomplished in
the renovation and addition. Feel free to let me know and I'll set up a
convenient time to see our outstanding Shelter.
As you know, we have received more than $1,600,000 in donations over
the last three years. Combined with our savings from years past and a loan
from a very generous Beta Phi Delt, Doug Baughman '82, we were able
to complete our $4,200,000 project.
In July, we were approved by The Ohio State University Office of Student
Life to be a STEP Program facility, which enables us to house sophomore
members. We anticipate a full house of 69 members for the coming school
year. Our rental rate is competitive to the new dorms and we look forward
to offering a great value to the Delts of the future. To remain competitive,
we must continue our fundraising campaign.
Our Beta Phi: Doorway of Opportunity campaign's immediate goal is to
raise the final $400,000 to reach our goal. This will enable us to minimize
our debt and keep our rent competitive.
Throughout the next few months, we will be reaching out to our Beta
Phi alumni to ask for financial support. If you have given, please accept
my sincere thanks for your donation. If you haven't, then we ask for that
support now so we can achieve our goals and put Beta Phi on a firm
footing for the future. I look forward to talking to you and please reach out
if you would like take you a tour of the Shelter.
Fraternally,
