Central, Quartzsite, AZ, 928-927-7697 VFW Members & Guests are encouraged to join us for: Christmas Light Parade set for Dec. 9 By Joanne Winer The annual Christmas Light Parade sponsored by the Quartzsite Busi- ness Chamber of Commerce in cooperation with the Town of Quartzsite will be held on December 9, 2017 starting at 7 p.m. The parade will line up again on Mesquite St. just east of La Mesa RV on Main St., and will travel east on Main St. to Plymouth Rd. where it will turn left onto Plymouth Rd. and go north to Town Hall. A tree lighting ceremony and refreshments will be held at Town Hall after the parade, and the trophies will be given out at that time. There will also be Santa and Mrs. Claus to greet the children and take photos if requested. Ap- plications for the parade are now available at the Quartzsite Business Chamber of Commerce and must be turned in before December 7th to be able to get into the parade. All entries are welcome as long as they are in the theme of Christmas and are lit so the judges can see them well. Entrants will be given a numbered plate to attach to the left side of their vehicle or entry so the judges can see them clearly. Judges will be set up again at the General Store. If you would like to be a judge for the parade please contact the Business Chamber and give them your number. For further information, or to get an application for the parade, please come in to the chamber offi ce at 110 W. Main St., or call 928-927-9321. Start thinking now about your fl oat or entry for the parade and join in all the fun of this wonderful light parade that brings the Christmas spirit to all of us!!! EVERY MORNING: Breakfast 8 am to 10 am. Biscuits and gravy -- $3.00/2 bis- cuits; $2.50/1 biscuit; eggs and sausage $3.50 Donation – members and guests. Check at the Post or on the VFW Post 769 web site for information on additional activities being planned. www.vfwpost769.org Comrades meet –2nd Saturday each month –10:00 a.m. at Post Auxiliary meets – 2nd Saturday in the dining room area at 10:00 a.m. NOTE: VFW Auxiliary is collecting coupons you may have that you won't use. These go to the military families who can use them up to 6 months after expiration. Please help us in this endeavor to assist our Veterans. Coupons can be left at Post, Mt. Quail Restaurant, General Store, Community Thrift Store, or Lutheran Church. We are also collecting labels for the school and National Home for Children. You can leave items at same locations as coupons.
