Nature's Nuggets BUYS & SELLS GOLD Nuggets - Jewelry- Coins- Silver Call Richard 928-927-5479 Quartzsite YEAR ROUND! The holidays are getting closer and the Quartzsite Food Bank supplies are low. We are defi nitely down from where we were this time last year. People have been donating to all the natural disasters this country had endured this past year which unfortunately has caused our food bank donations to be lower than normal. The Quartzsite Food Bank receives a large portion of our food from St. Mary's Food Bank in Phoenix. Their shelves are half empty from help- ing hurricane and fi re victims so we are receiving very little food from them. Jerry Brown, spokesman for St. Mary's Food Bank, said its ware- house has about half the food it usu- ally does this time of year. "We have put out messages to our agency partners that for the next few weeks, we're going to have to cut down the amount of food that we're distributing out to them," he said. Everybody is spending more money around the holidays, so if it is hard for you to give money please think about donating a couple of extra cans of food sitting in your cupboard (You know the ones you are wonder- ing why did I ever buy that can of ar- tichokes.) Just drop them off at the food bank on 40 N Moon Mountain just north of the Senior Center Tues- day & Thursday 8am-Noon. If you are shopping at one of our local stores that has our donation boxes please buy an extra can of food, peanut butter, box or bag of food and drop it in the box on the way out. Quartzsite Food Bank seeking donations Food donations can be dropped off these on these days or at any- one of our collections boxes located at RoadRunner Market, Horizon Community Bank, Dollar General, Silly Al's, Town Hall/Library or the General Store. If you can make a monetary dona- tion to our 501c3 there are several ways to help: - Go to our website Quartzsite- FoodBank.com and click on donate. There you can make a one time do- nation or sign up for an ongoing monthly donation for a low as $10. - Drop off a donation at the Quartzsite food bank. - Make the check out and mail to: Friends of the Quartzsite Food Bank, PO Box 4051 Quartzsite, AZ 85359 - Or call 928-927-5479. Thank you so much for all your help and don't miss our upcoming fundraisers: Nov 19 Chili Cornbread Dinner, Dec 2 Rotary Casino Night and Dec 9 Soup & Chowder Contest and Operation Hero Comfort Silent Auction.
