The Italian Job
How September's VICENZAORO Show Focused on Truths, Triumphs, and Trends.
BY BARBARA PALUMBO
"Buongiorno, Principessa!"
It was exactly twenty years ago when Roberto Benigni's Academy Award win-
ning, World War II-themed movie, "La Vita รจ Bella" ("Life is Beautiful")
came to the big screen in my home town. I remember the scene where Dora
falls from the upper level of the chicken coop into Guido's arms and he
greets her with those two magical words: Buongiorno Principessa. It was how
I always imagined Italians would be if I ever had the chance to visit them in
their country: full of energy, vibrancy, and warmth. And now, after three
visits to Italy in the last fourteen years, I can say that what I imagined is most
certainly the case, with my latest trip to Vicenza being no exception.
The September 2017 edition of the VICENZAORO Jewellery Boutique
Show has come and gone and in its wake, it left me with much to talk about,
think about, and look forward to. As a fi rst-time press attendee, my senses
were treated to nothing short of a holiday feast between the sight of luxuri-
ous Italian gold, the smell of strong Italian coffee, and the sound of beautiful
Italian accents.

The Italians truly believe that life, indeed, is beautiful, and they will do everything
within their power to make you believe it, too.
