fall 2017 Texas Alpha to the Top A fter years of planning, months of construction, and the return of our active brothers to a new house, the Texas Alpha to the Top campaign is coming to a formal close on December 31, 2017. Through your efforts, we have raised more than $7.5 million toward this historic effort. A huge amount of thanks goes to each alumnus and friend who contributed financially to the campaign, particularly those who increased their gift from the amount they initially pledged and those who contributed at the naming rights level. The beautiful home you have created will significantly impact the long-term vitality of Phi Kappa Psi at the University of Texas. Your gifts not only sustain Phi Kappa Psi for the future, they're proof of the value you place in your Texas Alpha membership and the commitment you hold to better the lives of our undergraduate members. Simply put, your gift states that Phi Psi matters. The academic support, brotherhood and sense of community Texas Alpha provides today's young men cannot be underestimated. Our chapter is still a place that positively shapes the lives of undergraduates, and will be for generations to come. As we admire our magnificent new home, there must be an understanding that more is still to be done. In addition to the need to pay down our bank loan, essential projects must still be addressed and require further funding. For example, the townhomes are now 17 years old and the soffit needs to be repaired and refinished. In order to place Texas Alpha in a strong position financially, and to finish these final projects, we must raise as much as possible by our campaign deadline of December 31. You can help the campaign and show that Phi Kappa Psi matters to you by contributing in one of the following ways: • Make a new or additional one-time contribution, • Extend the gift you have already made by adding a sixth year to your pledge schedule, or • Accelerate your payment schedule and submit your next payment before year-end. Additionally, room naming opportunities are still available (see list on page 3). Step up and become a legacy donor by securing your name on one of our esteemed spaces in the new chapter house. How you respond to Texas Alpha now will play a crucial role in ending our campaign successfully. With the campaign coming to a close, this is your final opportunity to have a hand in the new Texas Alpha house and prove that Phi Psi matters to you. Use the enclosed pledge form to make your gift today or donate online at www.phipsitexas.com. Lastly, at our August 5th All Boards meeting in Austin, I announced my retirement as president of TAHB and a distinguished brother Robert Meyer '79 was elected to replace me. TAHB will continue to flourish under Robert's leadership and I will remain a board member for the next few years. It has been one of the highlights of my life that my brothers entrusted me with the awesome responsibility of being the steward of their dollars and to lead the building of our new house.
