Com- plications may include b acterial pneumonia, ear and sinus infections, dehydration, and the worsening of chronic conditions, such as congestive heart failure, asthma and diabetes. e single best way to prevent the flu is to be vaccinated. e Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends everyone age six months and older receive an annual flu vaccination. Other methods of prevention are avoiding contact with those who are sick, getting plenty of rest, and washing your hands frequently and thoroughly. You will be treated to a wide variety of colorful styles and subjects, showcas- ing the diversity of imagination and artistic talents possible within a hand made quilt. Year round, Mt. Tam Quilt Guild volunteers make special blankies for various organiza- tions, including the small "preemie" quilts for the neonatal unit at Marin General Hospital. ey make larger quilts for children struggling with seri- ous illnesses. "We have also made hundreds of pillowcases for these youngsters for use at their specialized sum- mer camps, to bring a little color into their days," says quilt display coordinator Jeanne Bartlett. On October 25th, products, made by Guild members are for sale at the Mt. Tam Guild booth at the Marin Senior Informa- tion Fair. e proceeds help to support the Guild and keep the quilts flowing!
