Paul Winer's Cartoon QES celebrates improvements! ����� | S������ RAIN G�����-B��� The Town of Quartzsite and Parks & Recreation Board is planning their annual Halloween event at the Community Center. Halloween falls on Tuesday this year, so this year's HALLOWEEN Pumpkin Parkway Party will be held on Saturday, Oct. 28. The fun starts at 4pm at the Community Center, where there will be games, free food for the kids, a cupcake walk, a costume contest with lots of cat- egories, prizes and more. Local high schoolers will be organizing the Haunt- ed House in the Library this year at the end of the Halloween Walk. Halloween event planned Sat. Oct. 28 Volunteers are needed to help with a variety of games at the Community Center. If you'd like to volunteer, check out the Facebook group, "Hallow- een in Quartzsite" for more details. Help make this another memorable event for our youngsters! The public is invited to bring your chair and line up on E. Quail Trail to hand out candy, or just watch the Trick-or-Treating along the Haunted Walking Path! Businesses, Organizations, RV Parks, groups or individuals are encouraged to participate along E. Quail Trail, from Community Center to Town Hall. You can set up a "station" (Table, Traditional Trunk or Treat, Booth, Themed Spooky Scene, etc.) Prizes will be awarded again this year! You can just show up or to reserve your space, call Quartzsite Area Cham- ber of Commerce & Tourism at 928-927-5200. ����� | S������ RAIN G�����-B��� Quartzsite, AZ - Monday, Octo- ber 9, 2017 Quartzsite Elementa- ry School Distric Superintendent Raquel Burton hosted assem- blies at Ehrenberg & Quartzsite schools to announce the new let- ter grades. "Over the past two years, our schools have not been that great. We [Quartzsite] had an F, how- ever we have worked very hard for the past two years, and our letter grade for last year...is a C!" EES went from a D rating to a B; both schools increased by two letter grades for the 2016-17 school year. Burton said, "I am so very proud of all of you! Every single one of you did your best job! I know this coming year, we will do even better!"
