Christmas Light Parade set for Dec. 9 By Joanne Winer The 6th annual Santa's Workshop Arts and Crafts Festival is planned this year for November 25 and 26. There will be a set up available on the Friday before the festival, which will be held at Tyson Wells Showgrounds again this year, thanks to Kym Scott. You can come in on Friday, Novem- ber 24, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. or on Saturday, November 25 at 7am to set up before the festival opens to the public at 9 a.m. Applications are now being taken at the Business Chamber offi ce for this event and you must supply your own tables, chairs, and tablecloths to cover the tables. All entrants will be asked to donate one of their items for the raffl e. The cost of the weekend festival is only $25 per space, with no double spaces allowed except outside the building. There are limited spaces inside the building, but plenty of spaces in the outside areas. Se- curity will be provided during Friday and Saturday nights on premise. All entrants must have handcrafted or homemade items and should set up their tables with a Christmas theme if possible. By Joanne Winer The annual Christmas Light Parade sponsored by the Quartzsite Business Chamber of Commerce in cooperation with the Town of Quartzsite will be held on December 9, 2017 starting at 7 p.m. The parade will line up again on Mesquite St. just east of La Mesa RV on Main St., and will travel east on Main St. to Plymouth Rd. where it will turn left onto Plymouth Rd. and go north to Town Hall. A tree lighting ceremony and refreshments will be held at Town Hall after the parade, and the trophies will be given out at that time. There will also be Santa and Mrs. Claus to greet the children and take photos if re- quested. Applications for the parade are now available at the Quartzsite Busi- ness Chamber of Commerce and must be turned in before December 7th to be able to get into the parade. All entries are welcome as long as they are in the theme of Christmas and are lit so the judges can see them well. Entrants will be given a numbered plate to attach to the left side of their vehicle or entry so the judges can see them clearly. Judges will be set up again at the General Store. If you would like to be a judge for the parade please contact the Business Chamber and give them your number.
