Delta Gamma at the University of Iowa Fall 2017 INSIDE: Committed to Doing Good p. 2 • Tau's Trifecta p. 3 • Welcome, New Members p. 4 Welcoming New Additions to Tau Chapter Chapter House Looks Forward to New House Director, Patio Renovations T he House Corporation is so excited to welcome back collegians for the 2017- 2018 school year! Our biggest change and announcement this summer is that we hired a new house director. Bev Palmer has retired to Florida and we are so very thankful for her service over the past several years. Our new house director is Marcine Crosby and she joins us from Northfield, Minn. Marcine is a jack-of-all- trades and enjoys event planning, cooking, and spending time with her family. Her infectious smile and go-getter attitude will be a fabulous addition to Tau. With our house director transition, the House Corporation took this opportunity to spruce up the house director's suite with new furniture and decor. We also purchased new patio furniture and are looking forward to a patio remodel next summer. Please be sure to stop by 305 South Summit Street any time to reconnect and reminisce with the Chapter. We invite all alumnae to visit us October 6 and 7 to enjoy Hawkeye Homecoming traditions with your Tau sisters. Our doors are always open! In the Bonds, Alissa Sabers '06 House Corporation President alissasabers@gmail.com Alexis Tansey '15, Sarah Gornik '14, Allie Schumacher '14, Andrea Gurke '15, and Theresa Baranick '15 can't resist throwing what they know outside of Delta Gamma Executive Offices. Save the date for Homecoming weekend Friday, October 6 and Saturday, October 7! THE ANCHOR OF SISTERHOOD Kathleen "Kitty" Coen Buckwalter, PhD, R.N. Living in the Chapter house provided unique opportunities to build on this connection by performing skits, receiving the Homecoming trophy for best float, or playing bridge after dinner. "These memories remain significant because they represent shared experiences and bonds that are foundational to current relationships. They clearly made my undergraduate experience at Iowa happier, productive, and more fulfilling." In fact, Kitty believes these experiences positively impacted her life by teaching her the value of work-life balance and collaboration with colleagues. "I came (Continued on page 2)
