The Daily Star, Oneonta, N.Y., Friday, September 15, 2017 20 By Kat Mulligan TV Media Fashion forward: Calling all fashionistas! Fans of "Project Runway" know that no look is complete without hair and makeup, so it's no surprise that Lifetime's latest series is pro- viding stylists and makeup art- ists with a platform all their own. "American Beauty Star," hosted by stunning supermod- el Adriana Lima, arrives Thurs- day, Sept. 21, on Lifetime, and challenges stylists to push the boundaries of beauty while showcasing their unique skill sets. The series follows 12 con- testants — a group comprised of hairstylists, makeup artists and social media influencers — as they compete in a vari- ety of challenges. These tasks force them to become beauty directors and make quick, im- pactful aesthetic choices for a variety of demanding looks and editorial shoots. Along their journey, the con- testants receive guidance from celebrity stylist Sir John, whose support helps each beauty ex- pert infuse their work with their own personal style. Resi- dent judges include former Vogue beauty director Sarah Brown and world-famous photographer Russell James, who are joined weekly by a wide variety of guests, includ- ing YouTube sensation Mi- chelle Phan. Dancing challenge: Grab the sequin, chiffon and cha- cha heels, season 25 of "Danc- ing With the Stars" swings onto ABC Monday, Sept. 18. Co-hosts Tom Bergeron Erin Andrews are joined by judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonio- li, Len Goodman and Julianne Hough as 13 couples prepare to twist, dip and spin their way closer and closer to winning the coveted Mirrorball Trophy. "Dancing With the Stars" showcases celebrity contes- tants as they're paired up with talented dance professionals who guide their partners through challenging routines. The couples must perform pre- determined dances with unique flair as they vie for points from judges and the au- dience votes that can carry them forward in the competi- tion. These combo scores ulti- mately determine which pairs move on, whittling down the numbers until only the cham- pions remain. While ABC has been tight- lipped about the celebrity con- testants for this upcoming season, the list of professional dancers has been revealed. Fan favorites Maksim Chmerk- ovskiy and Mark Ballas are both back for another spin around the dance floor. realtalk B/The Pine Shop 6x7.5 www.thepineshoponeonta.com www.thepineshoponeonta.com Serving Oneonta and Surrounding Communities For Over 40 Years NEW FABRIC SAMPLES JUST IN FOR OUR QUALITY UPHOLSTERED LINES The Pine Shop Quality Home Furnishings 5382 St. Hwy. 7, Oneonta (607) 432-1124 Mon-Wed 9-5:30, Thurs & Fri 9-6 Sat 9-5, Closed Sun Quality Home Furnishings for Every Room in Your Home BACK TO SCHOOL DESKS & BOOKCASES End of Season Clearance Poly-Lumber and Wood Outdoor Furniture 25% Off In-Stock 12% Off Special Orders Quality Real Wood Finished and Unfinished Furniture
