Once a Seahawk ... A PUBLICATION FOR ALUMNI, PARENTS, AND FRIENDS OF BISHOP SEABURY ACADEMY 2017 FALL THE SEAHAWKS DO IT AGAIN! Science Faculty Receive Grants and Donations T his fall, Seabury science teacher Kara Schrader will be awarded $2,000 from the Voya Unsung Heroes grant to purchase supplies and equipment for her genetics and biotechnology class. The new equipment will enable her students to perform advanced studies such as DNA fingerprinting and sequencing. Representatives from Voya Financial will come to Seabury to present her with the award in person. In addition, science teacher Christopher Bryan will receive a $1,500 grant from the American Chemical Society for the second year in a row. Last year's grant was used to purchase specialized Vernier probes for the chemistry lab. This year, funds will be used to purchase a new spectrophotometer that will be utilized to analyze solutions in our advanced chemistry and biology classes. BSA voted #1 private school in Kansas for 2018 We are proud to announce that Bishop Seabury was again voted the #1 private school in Kansas for 2018 in addition to #1 Christian High School in Kansas by Niche.
