T
he chapter concluded a successful spring semester with a 3.14 GPA. This hard work
allowed us to place fourth out of 18 fraternities at Mississippi State.
CONNECTING WITH ALUMNI AND THE FRATERNITY
In addition to working hard in the academics arena, the chapter was happy to host the first
crawfish boil at the chapter house this spring. Over 800 pounds of crawfish were served to
more than 50 alumni, former Alpha Chi "little sisters," and the active chapter on April 29. It
was good to see so many brothers reconnect after a number of years.
This spring we also hosted Brother Anthony Marucci '89 and Tristian Conroy, Centre '12,
from the national office. Together they spent a weekend in April with the chapter conducting
a Building Men of Character retreat for the chapter and the Alpha Chi Board of Governors.
RECRUITING NEW BROTHERS
Our main focus this summer has been recruitment. We have hosted three events at minor
league baseball games in Jackson, Biloxi, and Memphis. I attended all three of these events
and I believe they were a great success. We had the opportunity to meet a ton of incoming
freshmen, including a few Alpha Chi legacies. These events would not have been possible
without support from alumni. Social Chairman Matthew Weicks '15 has been working
hard all summer putting together our social calendar for the fall. We will have an event
calendar prepared and made available for anyone curious about what we are up to during
the semester.
THANK YOU, ALUMNI
Thank you to the alumni who have already given to the capital campaign. We are
incredibly grateful for your support and are excited to see the new chapter house. If you
are ever in Starkville for a game or any other reason, please swing by the chapter house.
We'd love the opportunity to meet you.
Fraternally,
Ethan Frierson '15 | Chapter President | ef452@msstate.edu
