EMBRACING YOUR ALPHA CHI LEGACY BUILDING A NEW HOME Phi Kappa Tau Announces $1.5 Million Capital Campaign Alpha Chi's new three-story home at Mississippi State. PHI KAPPA TAU – ALPHA CHI CHAPTER – MISSISSIPPI STATE UNIVERSITY S ince our founding in 1938, Alpha Chi of Phi Kappa Tau at Mississippi State University has been an integral part of Greek life on campus. The house at 304 South Jackson provided a home away from home for more than 500 living alumni members in its 27 years. It not only sheltered us, it was the foundation of our brotherhood and the backdrop for countless, unforgettable experiences for each of us. After leaving campus in 1996, the alumni of Alpha Chi have worked diligently to rebuild our chapter. This year we made great strides and returned to fraternity row, taking over the ATΩ house on 115 Clyde Q. Sheely Circle. Now the time has come for Alpha Chi to once again have its own permanent home on the Mississippi State campus. $1.5 MILLION CAMPAIGN GOAL We are pleased to announce that Alpha Chi is launching the Embracing Your Alpha Chi Legacy capital campaign. Our $1.5 million goal will fund the construction of a new, three-story chapter house reminiscent of our previous home on South Jackson. Working with alumnus Lantz Kuykendall '75 and McCarty Architects, the board of governors and the house corporation have carefully cultivated a plan to secure a successful future for Alpha Chi. INSIDE OUR NEW CHAPTER HOUSE Alpha Chi's brand-new chapter house will span 15,800 square feet, including 14 bedrooms, a spacious dining room, full-sized kitchen, dedicated study area, multi-use lounges, a large front porch and patio, as well as a large chapter room to host the entire chapter. Rest assured, the chapter house is being built to the highest of student housing standards. $750,037 RAISED TO DATE With early commitments from 61 generous donors, we have raised $750,037 for the campaign to date and are now requesting your support to help us complete this vital project. For Phi Tau to remain on par and competitive with the other fraternities on campus, we must build a chapter house fitting the needs of today's college students. WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT In the coming weeks, you will receive additional information on this exciting project, the campaign, and ways in which you can join our growing list of loyal alumni supporters. Embracing Your Alpha Chi Legacy is only possible because of our gracious alumni, whose time and monetary contributions are priceless. This house will serve as a beautiful dwelling for brothers to commune and alumni to reminisce, while honoring the men who helped build the Phi Kappa Tau legacy at Mississippi State University. Thank you, alumni, for your ongoing support of Alpha Chi and your consideration. In Phi, William Jones '60 Campaign Co-Chairman (919) 417-1947 Barry Toney '85 Campaign Co-Chairman (214) 926-3348
