DEFENSE Defensive Line On defense, Lincoln lines up in a four-man front with Bagsby and Garcia at defensive ends and classmates Kris Martinez and Bryce Swinford at defen- sive tackle. The scheme is to try to have multiple defensive linemen rotate. Secondary Three of the fastest junior Wolves start in the secondary with Davis and Rich at cornerback, and Avellaneda at strong safety. Last year coaches raved about Davis' ability to lock down and shut down coverage on his side of the field. Rich has also shown ability to excel at the position. The pair of cornerbacks made throwing vertical against Lincoln difficult last year. Both are athletic. Teams taking a chance throwing the football in their wheelhouse may get intercepted. The cornerbacks put a bind on the vertical game. Caden Redfern is another defensive back. Overview The freshmen didn't win a single game in peewee football. Lincoln fans cheered when they got a first down, but that has changed over the past two years. In seventh grade the freshmen went 9-1, losing a chance at an undefeated season against Prairie Grove in week 10. Last year, they went 5-5 as underclassmen on a junior high team. Now, they are more hungry to win than ever. Seventh Grade The Wolfpack football coaches are looking for another good year of seventh- grade football this year. Lincoln installed artificial turf on the football field over the summer and seventh-grade football is getting brand new uniforms. In the last two seasons, the Wolves posted a 12-5-1 seventh-grade record.
