T
he campaign for Mu of DKE continues to need your
support. With $1,980,059 raised to date, we are just
under $20,000 from crossing the $2 million threshold.
If only four brothers pledged $5,000 over a five-year
period (that's only $83.33 a month), we would exceed
this milestone.
With so much focus on the Chapter's funds, we would
also like to provide you with an updated financial report,
detailed below.
In fiscal year 2016 (07/31/15 - 07/31/2016), the Mu of
DKE Foundation had total expenses of $122,600. The
largest expenses for the brotherhood were:
• Digitization of Fraternity archives project: $30,260
• Professional fees (campaign expense and property
management): $24,865
• Taxes: $14,250
• Repairs and maintenance on 7 College / Temple:
$11,900
• Charitable donations: $10,000
• Yale Club of NY (Jan. 2016 event): $7,159
• Utilities: $6,500
• Konosioni auction (Feb. 2017 event): $5,700
We collected $25,825 in rental income and saw additional
inflows of $137,475 from cash donations. An additional
$5,769.38 was added to the investment portfolio via
stock donations.
For the calendar year 2016, the Foundation's investment
portfolio, managed with a conservative long-term growth
goal by Brother Richard Sotell '75 of Kraematon
Investment Advisors, performed well with a 17.4% gain
($151,325). As of 06/01/17, the investment account
balances totaled $1,146,735, representing an additional
$81,331 in gains in the past six months. A detailed
