Chief William Ponce said, "Excellent team work enabled the Department to recover the stolen item with an arrest very quickly. It's always a pleasure assisting the citizens of Quartzsite." Letter is attached: Dear Chief Ponce, One the evening of June 9, 2017 I had the honor of meeting Offi cers Hovdal and Verdugo when they responded to my request to report the theft of my brand new tricycle. They both were out- standing int heir treatment of me. They took the matter seriously and showed me a great deal of respect and understanding. Also, they were both good humored as well as good looking. I appre- ciate all things. Then two days later, I was equally pleased to meet Lt. Ewald and Offi cer Powell. Also very good humored and good looking. They had lo- cated my brand new bike, made an arrest, and received many thanks from me. All four offi cers represent a truly fi ne police de- partment here in Quartzsite! They had to have worked diligently and cooperatively to fi nd my bike for me. Good communications and detec- tive work is a joy to behold. Even if the outcome had not turned in my favor, it was a pleasure to meet those offi cers and know what excellent po- lice work takes place in our city. I am the daughter of a retired Chicago police offi cer, and also had an uncle and grandfather who were detectives. I am, of course very proud of this, and know that my appreciation can go a long way. Perhaps this letter will go in each of those offi cers fi le. So thank you, Chief Ponce. I will look forward to your Neighborhood Watch meetings. They also developed a miniature robot city using OZOBots, they had drone fl ying and a display table with all their projects such as soldering, badges and radio repeaters.
