Breece bought an interest in the funeral home in 1926. At Mr. Rogers death in 1932, Mr. Breece bought the entire business from Mr. Rogers' widow. Robert W. "Bobby" Breece, Sr. joined the Funeral Home in 1950. Since his passing in 2006, the business has remained fam- ily owned and operated by his children, Corey R. Breece, Sr. as President, Robert W. Bell Sr. opened his business 93 years ago beside the old court house on Gillespie Street. In 1957 they moved to their current location on East Russell. Bell's Seed Store has become a family tra- dition and is now operated by the third generation of the Bell family. Mr. Holmes purchased the trolley, expanded it and opened the retail store of Holmes Electric (now known as Holmes Fine Gifts). In the early years the store sold hardware, sporting goods, housewares and appliances, which were in short supply during World War II. Mr. Holmes even sold fresh squeezed juice at the front of the store. The "hardware and housewares" area of the store evolved into the gift and accessories di- vision and is now run by Deanne Wheeler. Today Ste- phen Wheeler, Deanne's husband, is the third generation president of Holmes Electric, Inc. and presides over both sides of the corporation: Holmes Security Systems and Holmes Fine Gifts.
