PAGE 3 FKQ I owa Xi has been incredibly successful on all fronts this school year. This spring, we have nine associate members, so we have hit the 50-member mark for the first time in many years! This shows the tremendous strides that we have made from just a few years ago, and we are very thankful to everyone who has been involved in this process. On March 3, we held our first overnight formal in almost eight years in Okoboji, Iowa. The event was a huge success, with the venue praising our respectfulness and behavior, and subsequently inviting us back at any time. We have truly set the standard for how overnight events should be organized, and we hope other chapters at Iowa State will follow in our footsteps. Iowa Xi, along with the men of Alpha Gamma Rho and the women of Alpha Omicron Pi, finished second overall in Homecoming last semester. We hope to continue our success within the Greek community by placing well in Greek Week this semester as we are paired with the men of Tau Kappa Epsilon, Theta Chi, and the women of Delta Delta Delta. As a chapter, we are shifting our focus to community service. With a new requirement of 10 service hours per brother, we hope to leave a lasting positive impact upon the community. This semester alone, we have had brothers participate in the ISU Dance Marathon as well as multiple Habitat for Humanity build days in the greater Des Moines area. The chapter house internet over the past few years has been in dire need of a change. This semester, through the wisdom of Nate Kemmer '03 and Doug Burger, father of Derek Burger '20, and generous alumni donations, we were able to upgrade the chapter internet to work fantastically. This is a huge quality of life update to the chapter house and will save us from the headaches of having the internet crash on a daily basis. This semester, I've had the pleasure of meeting and getting to know several alumni, which is always a highlight of my week. The chapter house is always open to alumni who wish to visit, so please stop by so that we can get to know one another. Iowa Xi claims victory against Beta Sigma Psi in the annual Reformation Bowl. This is the fourth year in a row that Phi Kappa Theta has won. Thank You, Loyal Alumni W e would like to give a big thank-you to the generous alumni, listed below, who donated last fall to our annual campaign to improve our internet connectivity at the chapter house. The successes and achievements of the Iowa Xi Chapter are directly attributed to the support and involvement of its alumni. It is our hope that Phi Kappa Theta alumni will make modest contributions annually though this self-sustaining giving program. Be on the lookout in the coming weeks for details on how you can get involved. George E. Hoganson '53 David N. Callahan '59 Allan W. Kintzle '62 Thomas E. Bottin '66 Thomas R. Havey '69 Leo A.
