Chi Zetagram 6 T his past year has been exciting time at Lambda Chi Alpha. As the school year comes to a close, all the undergraduates are eager to be back in August and ready to move into our new chapter house. We are saddened to see a great group of seniors leave us as they will graduate and pursue higher education or employment. Welcoming AssociAte members is year, we welcomed many associate members, surpassing our goals for recruitment. Twenty-five new members were initiated from the fall class, and we are preparing to initiate another 12 members from our spring associate member class. Our most recent initiated class has taken a very active role in the chapter leadership. Many of our newest members are becoming active in chapter leadership and activities, working hard to build a new foundation and traditions for the new chapter house. AcAdemics And PhilAnthroPy In addition to working hard to strengthen the fraternity, the men have been working hard in the classroom. Overall, we had a chapter GPA of 3.01 this past fall and three of our members obtained a 4.0 GPA. When our men aren't studying or in the classroom, they enjoy participating in philanthropic events on campus. One of the reasons why I wanted to become the High Alpha was so that I could place an emphasis on philanthropy within the chapter. As the summer approaches, we will be turning our focus to planning for Watermelon Bust in the fall to raise money for Feeding America. Lambda Chi also won first place in the annual Atius-Sachem charity song/dance competition, and rebooting what I know was a long tradition for Chi Zeta! FAll move-in is fall will be a time of growth for our chapter. Not only will we be back in our own house, but we are preparing for one of the largest fall associate member classes in recent years. We will have 61 members living in next year, including 16 seniors excited to stay in- house with our new facility, and we expect to be at capacity the following year. Some of the actives and associate members took the time to express their opinions on the new house and what they are looking forward to. To see what they have to say, take a look at page 7. To conclude my High Alpha report for 2017, I'd like to thank everyone for giving me this opportunity to serve the chapter. ank you to all the alumni and those that donated their time, resources, and money to fund the new house and to keep this chapter going strong. I cannot wait for next year and all the opportunities ahead for us all.
