WASHINGTON CHAPTER MAKES STRIDES ACADEMICALLY Brothers Continue to Be Involved on Campus and in Pullman F armHouse has been productive in our pur- suit of bettering our chapter by improving our academics, our house, and our communi- ty over the last academic year. We continually strive to put our academics first. We have also made slow improvements to our chapter house by getting a new leather sectional, a new wash- ing machine, and new floors in the kitchen, some of which were provided by our wonder- ful Mom's Club. INVOLVED ON CAMPUS AND IN THE PULLMAN COMMUNITY e Washington State Chapter continues to think globally by throwing our annual Coun- try Cookout, which raises awareness and funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. is year, we were able to raise $800 through this event. We also participated in other fraterni- ty and sorority philanthropic events, such as ChiO Kickoff and Tri-Hop. Beyond our own fundraising, we have also remained committed to volunteering in the Pullman community, such as helping a deceased alumnus' wife who was struggling to keep on top of her yardwork. We had a great experience volunteering at Second Harvest with our alumni to celebrate Wayne Engstrom '60 receiving FarmHouse International's highest award, the Master Builder of Men award. Additionally, in attempt to improve the transparency of the WSU Greek system, we participated in the Holiday Lane event. We put up Christmas decorations and opened the chapter house to families to visit with holiday treats for the kids. MAKING STRIDES ACADEMICALLY ese last two semesters we have been pushing to have the highest GPA among other frater- nities, but we finished the fall semester with a 2.97 GPA, ranking eighth among 26 fraterni- ties. Additionally, Chester Broberg '15, Mat- thew Sionson '16, Nicholas English '17, and myself showed leadership by receiving 4.0 GPAs. Chester Broberg, who also serves as our vice president of scholarship, is looking to raise our house GPA next semester and hopes to finish within the top five GPAs of WSU fra- ternities. SAYING GOODBYE TO OUR GRADUATING SENIORS Our brothers are looking forward to adding more new members as we see our older mem- bers, Michael Larsen '14, Anthony Shelts '15, Conner Opie '14, Franklin Ramirez '15, and Gabriel Bell '14, graduate this spring. We look to our younger members to take on leadership positions as our valuable senior leaders begin their careers beyond WSU.
