I'mJohn, and this is my healing place.
MARINBOCCEFEDERATION,
SAN RAFAEL
At77,JohnTernullowashappilyretired, enjoying his role as captain of his local bocce ball team. It
was at the end of a game when severe chest pain hit. Paramedics were able to stabilize John but by
the time he got to Marin General Hospital, a Certified Chest Pain Center, he was in bad shape. John had
four cardiac arrests in the Emergency Department, and the team fought valiantly to save his life. He was
rushed to the Cath Lab where the expert cardiac team implanted two stents, pushing open the walls of
his arteries to get blood flowing again. Now John's back playing bocce and giving back by volunteering
at the hospital that saved his life. In his wallet, he carries the names of the 11 "guardian angels" that
saved him – a reminder of those who are in his heart forever. Literally.
