OMICRON UPDATE

L
ast fall, we initiated 54 new members,
growing our chapter to more than 145
brothers. These young men from across the state
and country are pursuing degrees in business,
plan II, engineering, pre-med, liberal arts, and
more. We're proud of how this pledge class
has significantly strengthened our reputation
amongst the Greek and UT communities.
This summer, we hope to have a stronger
recruitment than ever before. It is only possible
with your help, so please send us recruitment
recommendations sooner than later. You can
submit recommendations on our website, www.
texaska.com/recruitment.
Staying Social and Involved
on Campus
Our social calendar has been keeping all of us
busy! In the fall, we enjoyed game day tailgates,
multiple themed parties, an extravagant Parent's
and Alumni Weekend, a trip to Dallas for
The Red River Rivalry, and Christmas formal.
This spring we hosted a semi-formal, more
themed parties, a Tuesday night bowling league,
Round Up, Dad's Weekend, Mom's Weekend, a

philanthropic event, and the Rose Ball, formally
known as Old South. Outside of KA, you can
find active members involved in a variety of
organizations, including: Texas Cowboys, Silver
Spurs, intramural sports, academic clubs, faith-
based organizations such as StuMo and Young
Life, political initiatives on campus, and service
groups around the city.
Setting High Goals in Academics
and Leadership
As a chapter, we are setting our sights high.
We raised $15,000 for the Muscular Dystrophy
Association during our first-ever Parent's
Weekend auction this fall. Our chapter GPA
improved to a 3.18, exceeding the national
KA standard of 3.0. Our executive officers are
promoting leadership throughout the chapter by
creating multiple new committees that involve
many freshman through senior members.
Thank You, Loyal Alumni
As we look to the future, we are excited to
continue in the direction of excellence. We
wholeheartedly believe that your support will
ensure that being a Texas KA is a lifelong
experience like no other.
