We Are Always Looking for House Corporation Volunteers
I
hope this update finds everyone well. The House
Corporation has been pretty quiet the last five months,
aside from some Shelter repairs and big plans for some
summer improvements.
Our board continues to move things forward, and we
would love some new blood and involvement from
anyone interested in joining.
I want to give special thanks to Robert Moritz '06
for leading some major improvements this semester,
managing the projects, and working with the contractors.
Our biggest undertaking and expense was replacing all of
the soffit areas on the exterior and repainting the exterior
wood areas of the Shelter. This was much needed upgrade
that should really make the Shelter stand out.
This summer, we plan on replacing all the flooring downstairs and possibly upstairs as well.
This will be a very significant undertaking and expensive project. We will also repair the normal
wear and tear, update the landscaping, and improve the curb appeal of the Shelter and grounds.
As we progress with these projects, we could not do it without our help. Through your
contributions or volunteering of your time and expertise, we will go a long way to better the
lives of our active brothers and the conditions of our beloved Shelter. Any help or interest is
appreciated, and I hope you reach out to any of us on the board if you are interested or have
any questions.
