Nearly 1/3 of fatal crashes in the United States was related to im- paired driving. Impaired driving costs the United States $132 billion annually and costs each adult in the United States over $500 a year. Every day, 27 people are killed in the United States as a result of impaired driving. Our departments, along with the assistance of Governor's Offi ce of Highway Safety, know these statis- tics are a chilling reminder that we need to not only enforce DUI laws, but to also educate drivers about the dangers and effects of impaired driving and prevent an impaired individual from getting behind the wheel of a vehicle. The Town of Quartzsite Police De- partment, La Paz County Sheriff's Department, the Town of Parker Police Department, and the Colo- rado River Indian Tribes Police Department, and the Governor's Offi ce of Highway Safety would like everyone to enjoy the holiday and urge drivers to not get behind the wheel of any vehicle if they have been drinking or are impaired. Please use a designated driver. Memorial Day DUI detail
