"It was an honor to have a speaking part in the White Rose ceremony, along with my Big Brother Alan Roberts. Justa brought the white roses, the script for the ceremony, and he de- livered really nice opening remarks about Doug and the mean- ing of the white rose. I passed along all your stories to Doug's brother Bill, who incorporated your ideas into his talk about Doug. I've yet to speak with Cindy about the picture of Doug on the program, but I suspect Doug picked it out himself. It is the perfect picture of Doug trying not to crack up in front of a really odd ancient mosaic that is desperately trying to pass for art." –Ed Anderson '84 "He lived his life his way—with a big smile, great integrity, and true love in his heart. He was devoted to his family, friends, and career and was a loyal brother to us all. In departing this world, he left nothing on the table. As Doug had mentioned in an e-mail to several of you last summer, we really never know what will happen in life. So live life, cherish and be grateful for what you have, laugh often, and tell and show those you love that you love them. Nothing is more important. I was honored to be Doug's brother, as I am honored to be brother to all of you."–Alan "Thrabbi" Roberts '83 same bar that houses the grill that burnt the hands of Bob "Ruff" Hutnick '71 when he tripped and fell into the grill during the Great Western Trip of 2014). Doskocil '18 and Jacob S. Doskocil '19; son of Albert C. and Lois E. (Springsteen) Doskocil; and brother of Susan L. Do- skocil, William C. and his wife, Leslie Doskocil, and David B. and his wife, An- drea Doskocil. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws. He was a graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (B.S., electrical engi- neering, 1983), Tufts University (M.S., electrical engineering, 1986), Suffolk University School of Law (J.D., 1991), and Vermont Law School (M.S.E.L., 1999). Doug was a partner at the Goodwin law firm in Boston specializing in IP litigation. Prior to that he spent many years as an engineer for RCA, GE, and Martin Marietta. He was very involved in his sons' lives, coaching many of their sports teams over the years and acting as co-president of the Andover Band Association when they were part of the AHS Marching Band. An Eagle Scout, he was the Scoutmaster of Andover Troop 77, mentoring many boys in the process to become an Eagle Scout, including his own sons. He loved life and filled every moment he was given with family, fun, friends, travel, and sports. He will be dearly missed.
