W hen we think back on our Alpha Nu experience, memories rapidly enter our minds of friendship, teamwork, and the historic Usher Mansion. is home is where we lived, where we worked, and where we became men. It fostered a support system that provided a lifetime of friendships, contacts, learning experiences, and simply great memories. We all gained from our brotherhood, and many of us can trace our achievements to Alpha Nu. roughout the years, it has always been our goal to be the premier fraternity at the University of Kansas. However, to recruit and retain the best men, we must provide a facility and the resources that reflect the quality of our brotherhood. With this objective in mind, we proudly announce the Continuing the Pursuit of Excellence campaign. A NecessAry UNdertAkiNg Alpha Nu alumni explored a variety of options and developed a solid strategy that allows for the long-term viability of Beta eta Pi at the University of Kansas. Our plan includes the modernization of the chapter house—our first significant renovation in 25 years—retiring the debt on the Hutt, the creation of extensive academic and leadership programs, and the development of an ongoing maintenance fund. We were given the opportunity to join Alpha Nu and be a part of a special bond and tradition. ose of us who enjoyed the brotherhood, camaraderie, and character building Alpha Nu provided owe a debt of gratitude for that valuable experience. Now is the time to join us and provide the same opportunity to a new generation of Betas at KU. Early, firm commitments from alumni and friends total $3,311,210, and we seek additional support from dedicated and loyal brothers to reach our $5.5 million fundraising goal. In order for this campaign to be successful, we'll need alumni from every era to be supportive. It's been rewarding to see our brothers—young and old—make significant investments in Alpha Nu. I'm very excited with the response we've seen from recent graduates. eir commitment is demonstrative of the fact that the experience of younger brothers continues to be extremely positive. In the coming weeks, you will receive additional information detailing the project and the ways in which you can help. We hope you will join our growing list of supporters who wish to ensure the lasting impact of the Alpha Nu experience. Yours in _kai_, omas S. Ward '80, Chairman Chairman omas S.
