He will discuss his quest for the earliest Masonic painting. His presentation will discuss in detail the history of this painting, the symbolism it holds, and lead us all in a discussion of the very essence of what it means to be a Free- mason. The degree team must be com- posed of the installed officers of the lodge—Master, Senior and Junior Wardens, Senior and Junior Deacons (stand-ins for any other posi ons will be supplied at the compe on). Up to two alternates may be subs tut- ed for these officers (the alternates may not be cer fied lecturers). The lodge teams will all exemplify the first sec on of the Third Degree (including obliga on, not including lecture or charge). A trophy will be awarded to the winning lodge team. In addi on, the winning lodge name and number will be a ached to a trophy which will be displayed at the Grand Lodge office building in Raleigh. Open compe on-any degree team may compete. Teams should prepare for First Degree, Second Degree, or first sec on of the Third Degree (including obliga on, not including lecture or charge). All teams will exempli- fy the same degree, announced the day of the compe on. A plaque will be awarded to the winning team.
