page 2 influence on the women in the chapter now is as valuable as theirs was to us." Shelly is a House Corporation member and the chapter's risk management advisor, helping the undergraduates implement policies, procedures, and safe practices for social and fundraising events. She enjoys being an active volunteer because "Tri Delta is one of the most important forces and aspects of my life." She considers the women she met in the chapter as her closest friends even now. She still talks to Erica Copeland Hayman '90 at least three times a week. "I want to help foster the feelings and fun experiences I had as a collegian with today's chapter members." Shelly also appreciates the friendships she has made with other House Corporation members and volunteers. "We are all from different years and at different places in our lives, but Tri Delta brings us together. I admire and value these women who give their time and support to Tri Delta." Shelly is working with alumnae in Columbia to restart the alumna chapter and hopes to have that in operation soon. Following graduation with a broadcast degree, Shelly reported and anchored the news at WLOX-TV in Biloxi, Mississippi, for six years. She moved to Germany and then Bakersfield, California, where she began a career in public education. In 2013, she returned to Missouri and is the English language learners program coordinator for Columbia Public Schools. Shelly has a 14-year-old son, Jagger, who plays travel ice hockey, so "we are on the road quite a bit!" She can be reached at shellyfair@ yahoo.com. I was so excited coming into the spring semester knowing I had an executive board filled with dependable women behind me. We have been working hard to adapt to all of the new structure changes that the pilot program brings. Not only are we making structural changes, but we are learning new rules set by both National and our Panhellenic Association. This February, we had the honor of making another trip to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. We ended up having 148 members attend the trip with us! It was an overwhelming and a humbling experience for everyone there. Last year, we raised $121,542 for St. Jude. With Sincerely Yours and DHOP coming up in the next couple months, we are ready to once again beat our goal and raise even more. We're so proud of our members for working hard and getting an overall GPA of 3.346, placing us seventh in grades. Also this semester, we had the privilege of going through the informal spring recruitment process for the first time! Through this process, we gained 19 new wonderful sisters to add to our chapter. I cannot wait to see what incredible things our chapter will accomplish this year! I hope alumnae consider stopping by the Chapter House. We would love to show you around and foster stronger connections. Right: Hannah Ruckman '15 (pictured here), along with Molly Stefanksi '14 and Riley Herr '14, joined a MedLife trip over winter break. MedLife is a volunteer program that takes trips all over the world to communities living in poverty to deliver aid to the families and children in need. Sisters gather to send off a card to Rhyan Loos, daughter of Mizzou's assistant men's basketball coach, who was diagnosed with cancer in 2015. The chapter has fundraised for Rhyan since she was diagnosed.
