THE FORGET-ME-NOT
C
ome celebrate our 128th year on the
hill during Cornell University reunion
weekend June 8-11, 2017. We'll be honoring
classes of the '7s and '2s, and welcoming
alumnae of all years!
While we will not be hosting overnight this year
due to the bedroom renovation project (details
below), we will have additional open house times
throughout the weekend to give sisters more
opportunities to visit and reconnect.
The annual reunion reception will be held at
411 Thurston on Saturday, June 10, from 4 to
6 p.m. Additional times during the weekend
are planned. Visit our new alumnae website at
www.cornellalphaphi.org for updates to the
schedule and join our Facebook page at www.
facebook.com/groups/alumnaealphaphicornell.
The schedule will also be posted on signage in
the front yard.
Hotel and dorm information is available at
www.alumni.cornell.edu/reunion. We hope to
CU there!

T
he bedroom furniture sets have long
outlasted their intended life cycles. Besides
deteriorating appearances, many pieces are no
longer sturdy enough for even the most careful
use. This year the summer project will take the
entire summer—from the day after closing until
just before opening in August—as we renovate
the bedrooms. Every room will receive the
regular sprucing up of the surfaces and repairs
that are needed annually in a 100+ year old house.
To accomplish everything within summer break
the bedrooms will be emptied of furniture as the
floors are refinished, walls repaired and painted,
and new storage solutions, beds, mattresses and
desk sets are installed. We expect that rooms
may be viewable during Reunion. Details of the
renovation will be posted during Reunion, and
will be shown in the next newsletter and on the
new website! Stay tuned!
