Alpha Psi Alumni Association c/o John Meyer 1751 Chestnut Farms Court Fenton, MO 63026-2284 Address Service Requested HONORING OUR PAST - BUILDING OUR ALPHA PSI FUTURE Alpha Psi Chapter of Theta Xi Fraternity Mike McKinney, AY 265 B eing a pledge when the house burned down in 1970 was a mind-widening experience. Our survival depended on actives and alumni working together to build a new house. Unfortunately, we've been in survival mode for too long. Now we are in a position to not only survive, but to become the premier fraternity on campus. Our location is perfect and our actives and alumni are motivated. I am looking forward to my first St. Pat's at the new house. Nick Ereckson, AY 494 D id you know for a period of years, the annex didn't have functioning heat because they guys didn't have enough money to get it fixed. That's right—no heat through several Missouri winters. The annex is pushing 60 years old with no major renovations. The dining room is pushing 40 years old with no major renovations. It is time for us as alumni to pass forward the opportunities Theta Xi provided. Doing dishes as freshmen, details (annex johns, new house johns, showers, walks and dumpsters, basement, stage, halls, what am I forgetting?), house bills, shoveling the walks, building the block wall in the back yard, refinishing the basement, Greek Week, St. Pat's, countless hours in the basement, the walk down Pine St. to the Grotto, camping and floating, Tree Dec and the Christmas party, beating Pikes in football, wrestling in the annex hall, Colonel breaking his nose in a snowball fight, volleyball in the back yard…I could go on. It was a lot of work but a lot more fun. My family and I have been fortunate in part because of the lessons learned at Theta Xi. Our checking account is now funded orders of magnitude better than in college. I suspect many of you are in a similar situation. My wife and I chose to make a slightly uncomfortably sized financial pledge to help build a new house for future generations. I beg each of you to do the same. Now is the time.
