BQP Page 3 It's An ExcItIng tImE to BE A thEtA DEltA With a Fruitful Fall Recruitment and Continued Academic Success T here has never been a more exciting time to be a Theta Delta. Out of the 175 people that came to our recruitment events this semester, we narrowed it down and inducted 34 of the highest quality men. Within the pledge class, there is an executive board consisting of four pledges. This structure is setting up Theta Delta for continued success as these men are already starting to emerge as leaders. THANK YOU, ALUMNI Aside from our success in recruiting, the buzz around campus about the new Chapter House is impossible to ignore. The massive structure on the corner of 15th and Indianola is catching the eye and attention of many students, whether they are affiliated with Greek life or not. In short, it is nearly impossible to mention Beta Theta Pi at The Ohio State University without "impressive new house" being brought up quickly after. The Chapter could not be more proud of this and is very grateful for all of the alumni support that has made it possible. EMPHASIS ON ACADEMICS Theta Delta continues to thrive in academics as well. For the fall 2016 semester, our collective GPA was 3.22. This continues to put, as it has for the past several semesters, our GPA above the all-fraternity average. We also have a very successful academic assistance plan that helps those members who fall short one semester get back on track to being above our standards. PLANNING TO RECEIVE THE CHARTER Most importantly, perhaps, with the Chapter set to receive our charter at Beta Theta Pi's 178th General Convention in Salt Lake City, Utah, Theta Delta is truly hitting our stride. After receiving our charter, we not only intend on applying for the Knox Award annually, but plan on winning it. As they say, chartering is when the real work begins and we look forward to continuing our high membership standards, high level of accountability, and continuing to thrive as a Chapter altogether. It has already been an honor to serve this Chapter as president, and I look forward to continuing to do all that I can to make Theta Delta live up to its full potential.
