The men of Gamma-Rho continue to set higher standards on campus in areas from academic excellence to extracurricular involvement. Gamma-Rho is marked by the quality of our men as they serve in a variety of leadership positions on campus and throughout the community. Undergraduates Emphasize Academic Excellence We made great strides throughout the past year, as the Chapter increased its GPA to a 3.28 from the past year's average of 3.20. With another .08 improvement in GPA, the Chapter would surpass the current first place chapter GPA of 3.34. The Interfraternity Council average is a 3.1, and Gamma-Rho is ranked fourth by chapter GPA. The fall 2016 associate class earned a 3.32 average GPA, which ties them for first place for new member GPA. The addition of new scholarships, study resources, and collaborative learning opportunities has proved successful over the past year, and the men of Gamma-Rho will be pushing hard for another productive year in academia. In addition to our academic success, the past year proved to be one of the most successful new member education programs to date. There are an unprecedented 57 associate members out of 60 who will be initiated this spring. The new member education program has continued to challenge the associate members of our Chapter and mold them into young men worthy of our bond. Members Prioritize On-Campus Involvement In the community, our members have already logged more than 3,200 volunteer hours as we JD Baker, ΓΡ 2648 was sworn in as the Student Government Association president last fall. Active Members Strive for All-Around Success Academics, Membership Involvement, and Alumni Engagement Remain Top Priorities David Doshier, ΓΡ 2593 and Sarah Stagg were named the 2016 Homecoming king and queen. strive to achieve our goal of logging 4,000 hours this year. David Doshier, ΓΡ 2593 is Lambda Chi's newest OU Homecoming king. This past fall, David was named the 12th Lambda Chi to receive this honor since the award's inception, just 15 years ago in 1985. Daniel is an industrial engineering major currently serving as the High School Leadership Conference chairman. Furthermore, JD Baker, ΓΡ 2648 was recently elected Student Government Association president and was sworn into office on December 7, 2016. JD is a public relations major and the founder of the OUr Mental Health organization. In addition, the men of Gamma-Rho continue to hold a vast number of leadership positions on campus, including the Relay for Life chairman, Oklahoma men's lacrosse president, LEAD team chairman, and CCEW interns. After a newly revamped point system in intramurals, the current standings place Lambda Chi in fourth place with 781 points. In the pursuit of our 24th intramural championship, our Chapter will rely heavily on our big hitter, Chad "The Cheese" Sullivan, ΓΡ 2623, to push for a win in the upcoming softball and soccer competitions this spring. After the growth in alumni involvement that we experienced this past year, we have set out to continue creating opportunities for alumni to reengage with Gamma-Rho Zeta. Our men are proud of the history at 904 College Avenue, and every year we strive to top the last. By striking a balance between academic success, philanthropy, and social involvement, our members are leaving a lasting impact on Greek life, our campus, and the surrounding community for years to come. The success of this Chapter would not be possible without the support from Mom Roberts, Rodger Lalli, ΓΡ 1894, and all the Gamma-Rho alumni.
