For more than a decade, readers have been turning to our pages, both print and online, to find the latest news, insights and trends involving career schools. We have established a tradition of bringing our schools a voice and giving them a place where they can read stories about the positive impacts career schools are having on students' lives. is year, for the first time in a long time, we are truly optimistic about what our schools might be allowed to accomplish. Scrutiny and negativity have overwhelmed our schools for years. We've watched as attendance has declined and schools have closed. But now we see a new light. While there is still much to be determined, a new presidential administration could positively change the environment that has hindered us for so long. With a new administration come critical new leaders. In this edition of Career College Central, we offer you facts we believe you should know about the new secretary of education, Betsy DeVos, and how her leadership may impact career colleges. We also look back on the year that was 2016 through some of the news articles that appeared in our publication. is year in review tells the story of a "down" beginning to the year that gradually turned into a new hope for our schools.
