People can call 2-1-1 to speak with a live call specialist or visit 211tehama.org for help and ser- vices within the county, said Orle Jackson of Tehama Together, who presented the program to the council. "The main benefit of 211 is it brings all the health and social service resources together in one place," Jackson said. "It's like a one-stop shop." Tehama Together is celebrating the start of its third year with the program. There are more than 350 local agencies available for residents in TEHAMA TOGETHER Awareness brought to 211 Tehama services By Julie Zeeb jzeeb@redbluffdailynews.com @DN_Zeeb on Twitter RED BLUFF Rep. Doug LaMalfa made himself available for ques- tions Tuesday at the Tehama County Tea Party Patriots meet- ing at the Westside Grange Hall, where much of the discussion in- volved the recent emergency sit- uation at the Oroville Dam lead- ing to the evacuation of about 180,000 people. "We've had quite the week with rainfall and the incident involving the dam's spillway," said LaMalfa, R-Richvale. "There's some grave concern with what has been go- ing on at Oroville." The incident involved some miscommunication that led to extra fear for those living in the evacuation zone where there has been an on-going evacuation warning in effect during the days following the initial evacuation. A Sacramento area station re- ported an evacuation in the Oro- ville area, which was actually an evacuation regarding levees near Manteca, LaMalfa said. The water levels at Oroville, Keswick and Shasta dams are one of the things many people have expressed concern about, espe- cially those living near the Sac- ramento River. One of the best ways to keep up with levels is the California Data Exchange Center, which lists the different dams in the state, LaMalfa said. The web- site is https://cdec.water.ca.gov/. "I grew up during the time the dam was built," LaMalfa said. "It's a way to help with flood con- trol and there hasn't been a flood TEA PARTY PATRIOTS DOUG LAMALFA TALKS ABOUT OROVILLE DAM JULIE ZEEB — DAILY NEWS Rep. Doug LaMalfa, R-Richvale, talks with community members about the Oroville Dam and other concerns on Tuesday at the Tehama County Tea Party Patriots meeting at the Westside Grange "We've had quite the week with rainfall and the incident involving the dam's spillway." — Rep. Doug LaMalfa By Julie Zeeb jzeeb@redbluffdailynews.com @DN_Zeeb on Twitter REDBLUFF Traffic was briefly halted for about an hour following a colli- sion between a FedEx delivery truck and an SUV about 11 a.m. Wednesday on Diamond Avenue at the North- bound Interstate 5 on-ramp. Both drivers received minor inju- ries in the incident, but declined fur- ther medical attention and were not transported from the scene, said Red Bluff Police Sgt. Kevin Busekist. Traffic was closed at the on-ramp with vehicles exiting I-5 turned to- ward town and vehicles headed to- ward the on-ramp turned around us- ing Diamond Park as a turnaround point. Red Bluff Fire assisted in the incident. Traffic was re-opened at least par- tially about noon after both vehicles, including the FedEx truck that had landed on top of the guardrail to the on-ramp, were removed. The FedEx truck was traveling northwest on Diamond preparing to pass the on-ramp when the SUV turned directly in front of it, result- ing in the collision, Busekist said. A good portion of the guardrail was damaged in the incident and Cal- trans was called to inspect the area along with a contractor.
