A call for a water rescued at Paskenta Road was received just before 5:30 p.m. Friday with Te- hama County Sheriff's Depart- ment and Cal Fire responding to the incident. A man and a dog were inside a Ford Expedition upon deputies' arrival, according to scanner re- RED BANK Manrescued Friday night at creek crossing By Heather Hoelscher hhoelscher@redbluffdailynews.com @DN_Heather on Twitter LOS MOLINOS A 32-year-old Los Molinos man was arrested Satur- day for reportedly kidnapping his former girlfriend at knife point from a house in Corning at 6 a.m. Dustin Ross Langenderfer was booked into Te- hama County Jail on the fel- ony charges of as- sault with a deadly weapon other than a firearm or force likely to cause great bodily injury, burglary, criminal threats, kidnapping and inflicting corpo- ral injury on a spouse. He is being held on a $2 million bail, accord- ing to the Tehama County Sheriff's logs released Monday. Prior to Langenderfer's arrest, reports were sent out to all Cal- ifornia agencies, with special at- tention to Tehama, Butte, Glenn and Shasta counties, to be-on- the-lookout for him, as he has a history of criminal activity and resisting a public officer, accord- ing to an informational sheet on Langenderfer given to patrol and dispatch. There was no further informa- tion available as of 4:30 p.m. Mon- day. LOS MOLINOS Man is arrested on kidnapping charge By Heather Hoelscher hhoelscher@redbluffdailynews.com @DN_Heather on Twitter RED BLUFF Lincoln Street School went on lock down shortly after 3 p.m. Mon- day after reports were received of a man with a gun on Lincoln and Union streets. According to police scanner reports, the man, name and age unknown, was in the area with a long gun, later identified as a BB gun, and was close to a bus stop. Red Bluff Police officers responded at 3:15 p.m. and reported the man was un- cooperative so they held him at gunpoint, according to the scanner. Police said over the scanner the man had asked see his girlfriend. Eventually she was brought to the scene and the man surrendered around 3:35 p.m. without fur- ther incident. Foot and vehicle traffic was shut down on Lincoln Street as children were due to get out of school. There were no reports of injuries and no medical personnel were dispatched. Ingettingreadyfortheevent, about 940 pounds of crab was prepared, said Deputy Shelley McCullough who was on the committee that planned and putontheevent.Therewere225 tickets sold with most of them sold prior to Wednesday. "We had already sold every ticket we had by 9 a.m. Friday," said Lt. Dave Greer. "The com- munityissosupportiveofusand everyone from the community comes out to the event." Community support was evi- dent in the generosity of the do- nations the group received for a silentauction,Greersaid.Several volunteerswerehelpingselltick- ets for the auction as well as a raffle that had four guns and a gun safe as prizes. Pasteventshavebroughtinas much as $10,000. "One hundred percent of the funds raised tonight go to all of our volunteer programs," Greer said. "That includes our chaplains, Search and Rescue, STARS, Explorers and our re- serve officers. Not one of them has a budget from us to use." In the past STARS used pro- ceeds for incidentals and the chaplains program has used the money to send chaplains to training for responding to criti- cal incidents and various types of trauma. Search and Rescue has seen funding dwindle over the years andusedfundsraisedatthecrab feedandstaffingthefairgrounds parking lot at events for leverag- ing grants received from com- munity organizations to supple- mentvolunteerlabortoremodel its training classroom.
