Employers will be faced with drug testing individuals who may use marijuana on their own time and companies may personalize their policies re- garding drug use in the work- place to make for a safe work environment. "Drug testing is usually linked to safety on the job, and can and will continue," said Kathy Garcia, of the Job Train- ing Center. "Employers (will) need to stay up on requirements and developments and know clearly what they are doing and requiring along the way." Clear policies preventing drug use at the workplace will have to be implemented by em- ployers to ensure the rules of that particular company or en- vironment are known to em- ployees, while complying with state and city laws. The Red Bluff ordinance re- garding marijuana use states marijuana dispensaries and cultivation, indoor and outdoor, are banned within the city, but modifications will be made to comply with the new law. Under Prop. 64, residents may cultivate up to six plants per residence, indoors, for per- sonal use. The city may con- tinue to ban all outdoor culti- vation and all dispensaries, said Richard Crabtree, city manager.
