Skvarla, III announced that Everest Textile Co., Ltd, headquar- tered in Tainan City, Taiwan, will open its fi rst United States production factory in a 383,919 sq ft facility in Forest City. The Rutherford County location will handle weaving, dyeing and fi nishing opera- tions, and is expected to re- sult in a capital investment of $8,000,000 with the creation of 307 new jobs within its ini- tial three years of operation. It is anticipated that within the fi rst fi ve years of opera- tion the capital investment will be approximately $18.5 million and there will be 610 jobs created. Founded in 1988, Ever- est Textile Co., Ltd is a textile manufacturer specializing in yarn spinning, twisting, weaving, dyeing, fi nishing, printing, coating, laminating and special fi nishing. Ever- est Textile Co., Ltd develops and supplies high value-add- ed and innovative products to global leading brands in the sportswear, outdoor, city, casual and industrial materi- als markets. The Company is exceptionally environmen- tally conscious and imple- ments the Everest Sustain- Ability Model (ESM) based on a 7R Discipline: Rethink, Redesign, Reduce, Reuse, Repair, Recycle, and Recov- ery. The operation in Ruth- erford County will be the Company's fourth produc- tion plant, joining the list of existing factories located in Taiwan, China and Thailand. This project was made possible in part by a per- formance-based Job De- velopment Investment Grant (JDIG) awarded in the amount of just over $3,000,000. The Rutherford County Board of Commis- sioners as well as the Town of Forest City Board of Com- missioners approved Lo- cal Industrial Development Incentive Grants to further assist with the project. The County and Town Grants will be based upon the Com- pany's net new investment and job creation, spread over three years. Carpen- ter Design Inc. which has been operating at 1331 West Main Street in Forest City for the past several years will be relocating to the former Broyhill Case Goods facil- ity off Broyhill Road. This is the County's third major in- dustrial project announced in 2016, joining CMI Enter- prises, Inc headquartered in Miami, FL and US Precision Construction, LLC, a mem- ber controlled company of Tryon Equestrian Partners, LLC. Chairman Bryan King of the Rutherford County Board of Commissioners said, "It is a great honor that Rutherford County has been selected by Everest Textile Co., Ltd as the location for their newest state of the art textile facility.
