The chapter house is beautifully landscaped, the Great Hall looks stunning with its new coat of paint, and the undergraduates are doing an excellent job keeping everything presentable. They have worked hard this semester to impress our alumni and guests at the chapter house, and it certainly shows. I promise, you will be impressed by a beautiful fraternity house and greeted by a group of friendly, welcoming brothers. As our chapter continues to grow, we've implemented quite a few changes and have so much to be proud of. With a chapter of roughly 100 undergraduates, we now employ professional property management services and have weekly maintenance inspections. The brothers are well-respected members of their community and continue to place great emphasis on social excellence and professional development. This October, we again had a group of guys volunteer at the College of Agricultural Sciences Career Fair. In keeping with a new professional tradition, the College's Director of Career Services gave a talk at the house about 30-second pitches this fall. We'll also host an alumni professional/career development speaker series in spring 2017. Gamma placed first for spirit points with their Homecoming partner, Alpha Delta Pi, and they have a lot of great news to share related to their commitment to THON. Both the alumni and undergraduate leadership continue to work together to address challenges and maintain excellence at Gamma Chapter. We had a very productive task force meeting in September, with the goal of ensuring that our values as fraternity men remain strong while the chapter continues to grow and flourish. This day-long meeting resulted in about 20 resolutions/agreements related to such areas as recruitment, agricultural and professional development, social activities, and membership development. We always place emphasis on keeping our alumni informed and involved whenever possible, and host monthly conference calls that all brothers are invited to join. It is a great opportunity to hear from the undergraduates and get the latest news and updates directly from the source! The calls are at 9 p.m. EST on the second Monday of each month. Look out for an e-mail with more information, or feel free to reach out to me or any of our board members. Don't forget to visit the hallowed halls next time you're in town! We would love to welcome you home. Some of the freshest and most vivid of these take me back to the years that I spent living in the ΑΓΡ chapter house at Penn State. I still laugh out loud at times thinking of one of a hundred different inside jokes that never seemed to get old in that house, just funnier with each iteration. When somebody made a bone-headed move, someone else was always right there to call them out on it in some clever and hilarious way, and a room full of guys would erupt into laughter. I think what made this constant ribbing so great was that, even when we were having fun at somebody else's expense, everyone in that room knew that as a group we cared about that guy. We poked fun at one another in the way that only good friends can.
