Lunch will be served following the services. John Monroe Ross Memorial Service will be held Saturday Nov. 19 at 1pm, Split Rail RV Park, Quartzsite John Monroe Ross, born Dec. 20, 1939 passed away July 25, 2016 at the age of 76. John was a lifetime resident of Colton, and graduated from Colton High School in 1958. He joined the Army and served eight years until his honorable discharge. His service took him overseas to France, Greenland and Vietnam. When he returned home to Colton, he assisted his mother, Jennie in maintaining the family farm, which he continued to do until his death. He worked as a forklift driver in the Safeway warehouse until his retirement in 1998. He was a proud member of the Teamsters Union. John was an active member of community youth ¬activities with his children over the years, includ- ing 4H, youth sports and scouts. He also enjoyed fi shing, hunting and the outdoors. In recent years, he spent the winter months in ¬Arizona, where he gained many new snowbird friends as well. He joins his beloved daughter, Joy Marie; parents, Albert and Jennie; sisters, Eva Arlene and Elsie; and brother, Leon who preceded him in death. John is survived by his son, Ed; daughter, Janice; sisters, JoAn and Marie; brother, Dennis; fi ve grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and a very special friend, Linda. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Services will be held at Grace Church, 901 N. Molalla Ave., Mo- lalla, on Sat., Aug.13 at 3 p.m. In lieu of fl owers, the family asks that you consider ¬making a chari- table donation in the memory of John Ross to the Colton Fire Dis- trict, PO Box 71, Colton, OR 97017 (Federal tax ID 93-0782082).
