Hal is survived by his wife, Marlyn Derby- Coleman; daughters, Patricia Coleman and Jayne (Michael) Johnson; son, William (Barbara); four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret and daughter, Peggy Anne. Donald A. Edwards '47 entered Chapter Eternal peacefully on January 15. He is survived by his wife, Maryann; son, Gregory; daughter, Janet; and grandchildren, Matthew, Emilee, Isaac, and Paul. Donald had a master's degree in education and literature and a law degree. He served in WWII as an Army infantry messenger on the western front, earning four combat medals and a Purple Heart. His book, A Private Diary, depicts his wartime experiences. Donald's career included 30 years teaching high school in Detroit, real estate sales, insurance sales, 16 years as a professor at Ferris State University, securities arbitration, and a private law practice. He was a generous supporter of the Michigan Alpha Chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon, a committed Rotarian, and a passionate promoter and fan of soccer. Thaddeus K. Ketchum '59 entered Chapter Eternal on March 19 at Schoolcraft Medical Care Facility. As an undergraduate member, he held the position of chapter president at Michigan Alpha. He was a philanthropist who worked to share his knowledge and enjoyed helping others. His volunteer efforts included founding the Elk Rapids Yacht Club, township planning, and church choirs. He also had a great love for the University of Michigan sports and for his time at SigEp. Thad is survived by his wife, Sally; his children, Blake and David; and his grandchildren, Umberto, Hailey, Silas, and Brianna. ALUMNI NEWS Patrick H. Woods '46 is in good health and enjoying retirement. While at Michigan, he played the piano almost every night for his brothers to sing along to. Patrick has continued to play for shows, parties, etc., all these years since graduating from Michigan. He is most gratified in watching his children's and 14 grandchildren's achievements and successes in college, business, and musical endeavors. His memories of Michigan and SigEp are most precious to him, and his time there was the highlight of his life. Patrick lives in Western Springs, Ill., with his wife, Gerry. Donald A. Tennyson '48 sold his house and moved into a retirement unit in Niles, Mich. His wife of 66 years, Betty, passed away in May from heart failure. Donald is still doing well at 91. Edward P. Barrett '67 is retired and lives on Lake Huron just north of Port Huron, Mich., with his wife, Beth. He continues to sail and participate in sailboat racing. E-mail: epbarrett22@gmail.com
